JinGuo EV Finished the Extreme Cold Test and Started Its Global Quality Verification
Brand Dynamic

Recently, the first model SF5 of JinGuo EV, the Chinese name of the intelligent electric vehicle brand SF Motors, went to New Zealand and started its half-month out-of-season extremely cold environmental test in the 1,500-meter-high Southern Hemisphere Proving Grounds (SHPG). After a series of limit tests on ice-snow road under the extremely cold environment in New Zealand, SF5 successfully finished various strict challenges, fully proving the power, control and reliability of the vehicle. Furthermore, to ensure the quality of SF5 in the mass production, JinGuo EV made a durability verification plan for a total of 5 million kilometers. Several transcontinental and trans-seasonal vehicle road tests will verify the quality of SF5 with a strict test standard to safeguard the production vehicle. The first challenge in the ice-snow environment in New Zealand has successfully completed, marking that JinGuo EV has officially started its trip of global quality verification and that the EIC technology has fully entered the stage of vehicle test.

Full torque output on icy road; nearly equal to the “launch control” of a supercar

The intelligent electric SUV SF5 of JinGuo EV has a stunning design, and its intrinsic performance is also excellent enough. Equipped with the self-developed motor system—“multi-motor 4WD platform”, SF5 will start its first vehicle “exercise” under the extreme cold environment in SHPG.

It is well-known that the supercar has a strong power, and the maximum torque output can reach over 1,000N·m. On the asphalt road, if the vehicle starts with such a torque output, the tire will slip or be burned, or the power will lose because of the imbalance between the adhesion and the power output by the supercar. On the icy road whose adhesion is much weaker, this situation is more obvious. It will not be exceptional for SF5 in the extreme environmental test. After testing, equipped with positively developed electric control and electric motor technology of JinGuo EV, SF5 can still keep the maximum torque output with 976N·m on the icy road. Compared with the test standard data 1,000N·m, it can be nearly considered full torque output. The result is enough to prove that the power performance of SF5 can be almost equal to the “launch control” of a supercar.

One-time start in extreme cold environment; specially focusing on various “range anxiety”

The extreme cold environment can only influence the start of the traditional fuel-engined vehicle, and the final mileage will not change. While the electric vehicle may face a greater challenge in the extreme cold environment— the low temperature will not only influence the start of the electric vehicle, but reduce the battery capacity, resulting in the drop of final mileage. It is what many users (especially users in northern areas) are concerned about, and it is also the source of “range anxiety”.

In SHPG, engineers could not start up their iPhones because of the cold weather. SF5 had to stay in such environment for 12 hours. In the next morning, SF5 still successfully started in one time. Its EIC system and acceleration both worked normally, showing that SF5 has easily overcome the extreme cold environment. To deal with “range anxiety” in the extreme cold environment, SF5, equipped with battery management system of JinGuo EV, can still keep its mileage above the standard level, although the mileage was a little less than that in the normal temperature. After the sharp acceleration, the battery power display had no change, fully proving that the battery capacity of SF5 in the extreme cold environment complies with the design requirement and has no obvious change, which is enough to cure the “range anxiety” of users.

Good extreme risk hedge capability; good handling performance

Thanks to the forward developed electrical technology (battery, motor and electric control system) of JinGuo EV, SF5 performed well in the extreme cold environment. Besides, this intelligent electric vehicle is equipped with the latest ESP of BOSCH. In the later tests to pass through low-adhesion road such as snowy road and icy road, ESP function worked precisely and easily, without “any situation out of control or slip”. With precise steering mechanism and carefully adjusted four-wheel independent suspension, SF5 passed the most strict moose test perfectly with 80km per hour. In the extreme cold environment, SF5 has not only showed its excellent risk aversion ability, but satisfied user’s needs for sports.

Forward R&D has blossomed; JinGuo EV achieved the leap from 0 to 1

Different from other EV enterprises, JinGuo EV did not choose “easy mode”— analysis and imitation, andtechnology introduction— when developing its core electrical technology. It even chose the most difficult and challenging way to forward research and develop its product. This out-of-season test in New Zealand is the debut of JinGuo EV to show its leading performance, which has marked the successful application of its technology and “blossom” of its forward R&D. From the laboratory to the mass production application, JinGuo EV has achieved the leap from 0 to 1. The test (the road, the vehicle plus the harsh environment) has fully verified its electrical technology, taking the key step for the vehicle’s entering into markets.

Next, JinGuo EV will meet much harsher extreme challenges, including several rounds of tests in extreme environment such as extreme cold, high temperature and plateau, and different road scenes like icy road, sandy road and muddy road. The environmental chamber test will go on simultaneously. All these efforts are made for over 5-million-kilometer reliability verification before the mass production. In the whole automobile industry, a 3-million-kilometer road test is really rare, so it is more estimable for JinGuo EV to start its 5-million-kilometer reliability and durability test. JinGuo EV always pursues the excellent product quality and the high sense of responsibility to its users. JinGuo EV’s excelsior attitude to produce vehicles is enough to ensure the high quality of products after the mass production, and SF5’s launch next year is also worth expecting.
